in RealPlayer SP, Video

This is the second in our series of conversations about how people use (and want to use) video. It was recorded at the Social Media Club in Washington D.C. on September 16, 2009 and features a product demo and Q&A presented by Lacy Kemp, of RealPlayer SP, the series sponsor.

After being introduced by Nisha Chittal of Social Media Club Washington D.C., Lacy gave a short demo of how easy it is to download a YouTube video and transfer it to a Blackberry using only the RealPlayer SP software. She entertained questions from the audience on topics including DRM (digital rights management) and PC and Mac platform availability. She also mentioned several use cases for portable video – and we’d love to hear your suggestions as well. There is an open question on the table regarding how the software handles digital watermarks that Lacy is investigating.

Many thanks to Scott Stead who recorded this event. That crackling you hear in the background is people munching on the Mars chocolate that was provided to the meeting. Mars was a co-sponsor of this event at Social Media Club Washington, D.C. Social Media Club is a non-profit educational organization devoted to developing and sharing the best practices in social media. The episode was edited by yours truly. We look forward to your comments – which you can embed directly in the video if you have a free account at Viddler.com. It accepts text and video comments.

Pictures are fascinating most of the time. But it would be much more fascinating to have videos around. Videos move our mind and let have a real feel of the situation. It makes things much more real…

investasi – I think it is direct, but you could go P2P if you wanted to. (I imagine.)

Videos are tough, you need sound. Reading is easier for many to do from work and other environments
